Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy can help heal, rejuvenate, and relax the mind, and body.

     Types of aromatherapy-

  • Essential oils: Fragrant oils extracted from plants through distillation.
  • Absolutes: Fragrant oils extracted from flowers or delicate plant tissues.
  • Herbal distillates or hydrosols: The aqueous by-products of the distillation process. There are many herbs that make herbal distillates and they have culinary uses, medicinal uses and skin care uses. Common herbal distillates are rose, lemon balm and chamomile.
  • Infusions: Aqueous extracts of various plant material.
  • Carrier oils: Typically oily plant base triacylglycerides that dilute essential oils for use on the skin.

Aromatherapy goes back to the ancient times. Egyptians used oils from plants and flowers for massage oils, embalming preparations, perfumes and cosmetics, and skin care products.

You can make your own Aromatherapy goods-

Everything you need can be found at your local health food store.


Body Splash:  Get your own spritz bottle and mix a few drops (as many as needed) of your favorite essential oil with water.


Lip Gloss: 
1 tablespoon grated beeswax
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/8 teaspoon vitamin E oil (optional)
1/8 teaspoon vanilla (or your choice of flavor) extract

Heat everything together gently, and store in clean container.
